Get Wet for a Good Cause
posted by Tracy Klinkroth on Wednesday, August 27th, 2008Getting wet for a good cause sounds like a pretty good idea to John Cook, Technology Reporter at the Puget Sound Business Journal. For nearly a decade, John has written about startups, entrepreneurs and venture capital firms in the Seattle area. In 2000, he launched the P-I’s Venture Capital Notebook—an online resource for those in the startup and venture capital communities, which won a top prize from the Society of Professional Journalists in 2001.
We can also tell you that John has a good sense of humor and doesn’t take himself too seriously; as he’s one of a growing list of local entrepreneurs who are willing to “Get Wet for Charity” by volunteering their time in our Dunk Tank at the Company Picnic. Local literacy non-profit, Page Ahead, is beneficiary of all proceeds raised from the dunk tank.
So, all you Tech Firms—this gives you a golden opportunity to get back at John if you weren’t quite so happy about what he wrote about you in his blog. John is daring you all, telling us, “I know there are some entrepreneurs and venture capitalists around town who wouldn’t mind seeing me dunked under water, maybe permanently. Actually, I look forward to taking a few dunks for a very good cause.”
